Hire a canal boat for a four nights short break exploring along the Canal de Nantes à Brest. This particular cruising itinerary gives a great flavour of everything that’s good about seeing Brittany from the waterways.
Your canal boat holiday on the Canal de Nantes à Brest begins the minute you pick up your Nicols boat from our base at Glénac, a small village located just 11km from Redon. Our team awaits you in an area that is loved by fisherman and birdwatchers due to its rich nature.
Glénac: a small quiet village with a marsh area full of wild birds, restaurant in the village centre is also an excellent place to purchase groceries to take with you on your trip – including fresh bread and croissants!
Peillac: Roman encampment, Manors, Cranhac
St Martin-sur-Oust: Château de Castellan, St Mathurin chapel
Rieux: Medieval fortress
St Laurent: 16th century houses, manor house of Balangeard
Malestroit: Church, Half-timbered houses, Anglers museum, The miller workshop, Museum of the Resistance
Josselin: Doll Museum, Josselin Castle, Notre-dame du Roncier Basilica
Our canal boat trip on the Canal de Nantes à Brest was very enjoyable. Even though we only had a few days it was enough to relax and enjoy the fun of a boating holiday whilst finding medieval cities such as Josselin and Malestroit.
